Ways in Which Meditation and Mindfulness Enhance our Ability to Connect and Lean into God
Grounding and Deep Breathing Exercises slow the rambling of the mind and allows for more focused prayers and conversations with God.
It helps calm hysteria and helps create a space for putting things into perspective.
Through quieting the mind, we can more effectively observe and connect with nature.
An honest assessment of nature reveals God’s sovereignty and thereby evokes gratitude for God’s love, grace, mercy, and justice.
In this way, it allows us to come before God with a repentant and contrite heart, full of gratitude and a willingness to accept God’s guidance and direction for our life.
Inner Peace is only real when it comes from the Holy Spirit living inside us, and requires recognition of the fact that true happiness comes from a deep and intimate relationship with the Holy Trinity in which we allow God to define and govern our spirituality.
By understanding that we were uniquely created by God to be in relationship with Him, and that the rest of creation was made for His glory and to enhance our existence, we can begin to grasp what a generous and loving Father our creator truly is.
Mindfulness Practices help us to stay focused on what is real while allowing God’s truth to frame the moment. In this way, true love can be felt and given. True love comes from God because He is pure love. We love because we were first loved by God.
Meditation therefore, becomes the conduit through which deep and meaningful prayer and connection with God can take place once we become quiet and still.
In order to become quiet and still, we must look inward to identify and reject the chaos within in order that we would be able to embrace Jesus and the promises that He made by dying on the cross and being resurrected; so that we may be able to draw near to Him in the way for which we were created in the Garden of Eden.
